You don't need a new door, you need a body shop to put a new skin on it. Simple repair, blend the two adjacent pannels and your car will be as good as new.

Oh see if you can get dad to pay for it...

People aren't all bad, they make mistakes. I was off yesterday and was driving along the back of a strip mall and an elderly lady nearly backed into me. She stopped in time and gave me a wave as if to say sorry. We're all gonna be over 40 someday so I figured I should give her a break.

Just kidding she was probably mid 80's.......

Anyway, sometimes we just have to fix things up and not get too upset about things that are beyond our control. Good luck!

when i'm in my mid-80's and i start losing motor skills, i'm getting a chauffeur. take responsibility for your own lack instead of endangering others.

Get a chauffeur? That's not realistic. The AARP recruits at age 50 now, they have considerable clout, your grandpa is probably a baby-boomer so I don't have to explain that. By the time we are middle-aged, there will be many many more "older" drivers than today. So we either deal with it or live in a bubble.....

Even if you get a new door that is sterling mist, it looks like to me that the body is bent under the door, and if it is, this will be the key to your door being able to close properly or not..

so, you didn;t get any info? it looks like the rear door was also knicked a lil bit. good luck with the repairs. don't try rollin down the window any time soon. it probably won't go down! bummer.

and Frank, yea, people make mistakes and people need to understand that mistakes happen, but if you do make one, take responsibility for it. just because we are all eventually going to make mistakes doesn't mean that we should just blow off whatever happens to us. i think that if there are consequences for mistakes, they should be followed thru on.

Did you park at a Mall? See if they have photo parking lot surveillance cameras , like what's at our local Wal-Mart.

Word! I'm gonna move someplace warm and use public transit instead of endangering other people....anybody see that South Park episode? LOL!

That sucks about your Maxima...so many people these days will not take responsibility for their actions. My friend got hit by a car last week and the driver just sped away! Society is going downhill so fast....hope you can find a door for cheap! When I got broadsided we had to order a door in from Japan.

you could get that red paint off with brake fluid an old body shop trick just make sure to whipe it off and rinse with water aftyer doing it. As far as the door that is ****ed you need to get a new door and paint match

Should be easy enough to find a driver side door at one of the junkyards in the NY/NJ area.

Just need to get it painted to match.
