I took my mast/motor assembly out of my max for weight reduction. The thing weighs around 10 pounds if I remember correctly. I left the finishing piece on for now since I don't have time to shave it and I plugged the hole up top with a small piece that came with one of my air tools that happened to fit like a glove (to prevent water and crap from getting in). I'll take a pic if anyone is interested

i'm interested in a pic. actually, is there a way you can remove the motor for weight reduction but just leave the antenna to keep the hole filled?

I don't think there is a way to leave the antenna without the motor. I believe it is all one assembly which is probably why I had to search for something to plug the hole to begin with, although my memory has been lacking lately and I could be wrong. I'll get a pic later tonight though

Just install a GXE fixed antenna. I'm sure any GXE owner would trade you in a heartbeat and probably would even give you $20+ cash for the trade.
