god damn.. looks good.. cant wait for the write up i just got my hids now i have no high beams.. well ur idea looks promising.. can u list a parts list.....good job...
what's the point of this poll?
"Regular maxima lights" vs "Super cool unique dual lens HID retrofit"
hands down the dual lens obviously

Okay finished aiming everything up this morning at the break of dawn. I just need to hook up a diode for the hids to stay on with the high beams and not blink when the high beams are hit. I'm going to try some e46 projectors next, I'll probably be selling that set; they are supposed to be way better than these e55 singles. And I did bend the shields to get more color out of them. Other than the e46 I want to try 2 more projectors and add angel eyes.
Count me in for buying anything headlight related that you produce. Im not one to cry about prices aslong as their nice and reasonable (which they were in your previous post). those are by far the nicest headlights I've ever seen for the max, and would love to get some for myself.
Alright ladies and gentlemen I am complete (Finally!!), just had to add a diode to the high beam wire and connect it to the lowbeam wire so that the hid stay on when the high beams are turned on. I'm happy with how it all turned out. The only drawback is when you pull back the highbeam switch to flash someone, the hids come on too. I don't really do that alot so it shouldn't really be an issue. A decent write up will come here in a couple weeks, probably the 2nd week of Sept.
I remember someone talking about saving write ups in a pdf file to make them available off line, if you know how to do this pm me. I will put the whole write up in a post. My prices are in post #75. I'm going to research using halogen projectors for those who don't have the dough for real hids. But search around, Kevlo got bi xenon projectors with bulbs and ballasts for $200, and that's a deal!!

When I do a write up it may possibly be posted on here and/or gotnismo.net, write up due to hit 9/16.
very nice. If you do this with a set of Cefiro head lights I'd pay more than 500 easy. On another note it seems that the people buying maxima's are getting cheaper and cheaper. I guess they didn't realize that when they traded their 95 honda civic for a maxima that parts were harder to get and more expensive ;P
I'm nutty for Nissans

So technically, these are NOT dual HID's since only the outter ones are actual HID lamps. I'm wondering why you didn't went for inner HID's since you've already done the most difficult task of retrofitting them in the housing.

The retrofit is dual lens not dual projector. You would have to have 4 hid bulbs and ballasts, 4 projectors, aim them all properly, and there is no use spending at least $800 on headlight parts when $350+ will light up the road waaay better than stock. It would be overkill if you ask me, but there are people trying to put airplane xenons on their cars as well to. I only use may highbeams maybe 4-5 times a year max so I just went with halogen, it was cheap, and it adds to the look.Originally Posted by DR-Max

Most definitely...it doesn't make sense to have that much HID bulbs. Looks awesome though.

. TONS of grinding, tweaking, and more tweaking. Patience and baby fitment steps are key. Get too aggressive and you have a whole too big...aka screwballed.

link to where i can get some airplane xenons plz

That is some incredible work. Nice job
I've helped my cousin retrofit bi-xenons into his E36 and it was a PITA. It takes total patience and a steady hand! I would likely have a retrofit done for me when I go this route and if you're serious about offering your services I wouldn't hesitate to fork the cash over. For $500 or whatever it's pretty cheap vs. HIDTech.

Get in line buddy! J/K. I did not ask maxgtr2000 if I am his first customer, but rest assured, pics will be up on my website, and once I get it, I will have a video of the eletrical part (Installation of ballast, and wiring Angely Eye to my parking light). He will be taking alot of pics as part of a how-to for those brave enough to DIY.
Here is a link to what was done so far.

I used Valeo Bi-Xenon projectors from a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg. I didn't do any shield modifications. I'm still in the process of wiring my solenoids. I'm also designing a new shroud with a 4" PVC as I'm getting some light leaking out from the sides. I wouldn't recommend these projectors for this vehicle. I had a difficult time mounting them in the housing.
It amazes me on how you got 2 projectors to fit.

It's just one projector, the inner lens in just a fog/driving light, it has a rounded contour on the back, it allows both to fit. The hard part is that the projector doesn't fit in the "valley" of the headlight reflector, it is mounted on the outer edge. Takes a little bit of trial and error to get it to fit right.Originally Posted by coolcatne

BTW if you notice in you post, the word img shows up before and after the picture so you can edit your posts by removing the after the picture url.
this is one of the many threads that make me want to get xenons and put them in my 2nd gen projectors. all of you max's with projectors are my idol. we should start a maxima projector club or even thread of how to install them in diff generations that would be cool. we could cal it "the maxima guide to projectors"....
I was thinking about starting a thread in the general section for projector retrofits.
HOW TO WRITE UP is here!!!
As promised ladies and gentlemen!! Enjoy. Don't forget to post your pics when done. Holla!!

You got it good cause you are just down the street. Get me the projectors, the cefiros, and pay me later. Piece together your bulbs and ballasts, it will be cheaper.Click to enlarge
