Adjusting Idle RPM's
Adjusting Idle RPM's
I'm sure this is here somewhere, but i couldn't find it. How do you adjust your idle? I changed spark plugs a few weeks ago, and since then, at startup the rpm's only go to 1200 instead of 1500, and the car feels a bit sluggish. At idle, it's around 600-700 like normal. Oh, and I did put in NGK coppers, the correct ones, so its not them.

Long time no see... hows the ARX treating you? (OT I know).

i love how people say they have a high idle problem, and then people suggest , oh hey, just read the stickys. and some people even say adjust your idle at the screw in the engine compartment.(99 on ecu) but the real problem with that is, if you didnt adjust it before or mess with it beofre, 99% of the time its a serious problem that has occured like a vacum leak. oh lets just adjust the idle to fix that problem... jeez

to that
killcrap - with a vacuum leak, will your warmed-up idle end up settling at the 550-650 spec? I think that with a vacuum leak, you'll have a constant high idle...
if your reffering to a standard transmission, that spec is correct. but if it did have a vacuum leak the o2 sensor will see that, and will relay the infor to the ECM, and the ECM will command rich. and the Rpms will have a contant hig idle.
i'm reffering to the post above where his idle is 900rpms. most likely a small vacuum leak. get a scan tool and check the LTFT you can ignore the STFT.
