95 Max still got original factory brake pads

yep the rear pads on my max came from the factory in 95 i did replace the fronts a year ago. now to be honest this max is only at about 40k miles now. also have original belts and sparkplugs. now the next thing i have to do is change or regrease the starter as i have the squel problem. then the ign switch takes a couple of tries before it works .but all in all since i bought this puppy new in 95 ive only had to do 1 major maint thing which is change the cv axles. oh the 40k part is just a guess as the odometer only somtimes works since 1 year ago at 33k. but till it quit i was averaging about 3k miles a year. so in conclusion. after 10 years with this max I am very pleased with the cost of ownership.

so you rather have your car break down on you one day, rather than have a tune up to keep it well?

i guess you never went to see a dentist. "I can still chew and swallow!"

You probably have the lowest mileage 4th Gen on the .org. At 59,700 miles on my 95SE, 5-speed, I know I am in the lowest mileage category.

My car has mostly highway miles on it. I still have the original front brake pads, belts and spark plugs and have no intentions of replacing them any time soon if they don't need to be changed. I only replaced the rear pads, with about 40% to the wear indicator, a few months ago as the right rear caliper was seized as a result of me not using the parking brake for about 5 years. I also still have the OEM Goodyear Eagle RSA tires on the car and don't plan on replacing them for another 5K.

Focus on replacing the fluids: transmission/transaxle (if 5-speed), power steering, brake, clutch (if 5-speed).

Have you replaced the fuel filter and air filter before?

I doubt that you need a tune-up, but should perform all the visual checks (in addition to the above) that are outlined in the maintenance schedule.

I neglected to mention flushing the radiator. You should have your cooling system flushed and pressure tested if you haven't had that done in the last 2 or 3 years.
