well it was pretty subtle and i figured that it was doing that because of the misfire. Turns out it was the other way around.

So, how did i get A s S raped? That's not a very necessary or informative response. Are you suggesting that it should have taken him less than 3 hours of time to replace the intake gasket, weld 2 new mounts for my exhaust and replace my tail light assembly? I'm HAPPY to pay $200 for labor to have my car fixed and fixed RIGHT the first time. I did what i could and saved myself a lot of money in the process...but when you don't know wtf is going on, it's time to take it to the people who do and let them take care of it..

I pick it up tomorrow after he mounts and balances my snow tires and throws an inspection sticker on it...I guess he had to replace the tail light assembly because a freakin tail light was out? $75 from nissan...i think i got raped on that one..but ...hey...for under $500 and my car working again...as mr. jones would say, i'm about as happy as i can be.

Thanks everyone for your help. I hope this helps future .org's. I'll post what happens with the CEL codes.

PEACE

If you're satisfied with the amount you paid for the performance you got, then it was a good call. Crazy as it sounds, $65/hour isn't that bad of a rate for labor! The dealership is around $90/hour!

Congrats man, reading that was like a good novel. got iffy at first, but it all turned out good in the end. I'd be willing to bet the o2 and KS codes dont come back, but the o2 MIGHT be related to your cat falling apart. just my .02

There is no way to tell that the cat is falling apart by visual inspection. Sure it's probably rusted and all that, but not sure how your mechanic was able to judge it's functional condition.

Well..just picked her up. And i have to REtrain myself how to drive. Not having to keep half a foot on the gas just to keep it from shaking uncontrollably and not letting it stall is just...well..driving is just enjoying again.

KS Code and o2 code did come back. I'll replace the o2 sensor soon but the KS code can kiss my ...balloon knot. My starter is going to go soon as it screeches on random starts and i have to retry a few times to get i to catch. That and he said again that the Cat is lookin pretty dodgy...

I'll leave that for another day tho...

Question. I want to get my radiator flushed and fluids changed..is jiffy lube a rip off?
