My 97 Maxima throws the code, my friends 96 throws the code and my brothers 95 throws the code. I no longer have my maxima, but from what I remember this was a pretty frequent issue with the 4th gen's correct me if I am wrong?!?! Im trying to help him out some, and I ran the tests on his ecu to determine the culpret for the CEL coming on, and its an engine coolant sensor and the knock sensor.

Obviously somethings is wrong with those two sensors otherwise they wouldnt be throwing the code. Recommend replacing the knock sensor asap after we check the megohms to determine its status?

read the stickies, and check the sensor before you change it out. As for the engine coolant temp sensor, swap that out, as they are like $15-20 from a dealership. And when you change the coolant temp sensor, make sure that the engine is cold, else you'll fry the new sensor.
