After I start it, it smells like a lot of gas. After a minute car sounds good but misfires at stops and low speeds. The exaust seems to be blowing extra hard and smelling like gas, especially when hot. Before this happened the shake at low speeds and idle was there but there was no gas smell. I replaced all the fuel injectors because it was recomended by the dealer and that's when this started. I also replaced all the vacum hoses. My suspicions are a air leak in between the maf and throttle or an 02 sensor. Can anyone lead me towards finding out what's wrong, i will greatly appreciate it....

 

You wasted a lot of money listening to the dealer.

First obvious question to ask are you getting a cel? Did you pull codes?
When last were the sparks changed?
If its not the sparks it may very well be a or more coil packs

You should have gotten a vacuum test done before replacing all the hoses. O2 sensor wouldnt affect start up it would simply cause a bad mixture and give bad performance.

 

Test the resistance of the engine coolant temp sensor.
The Haynes shop manual has a table that has resistance ~vs~ temp for referance.

 

Did the dealer replace the injectors? You might have one or two bad injectors or the harnesses arent on securely

 

I changed all the injectors, 02 sensor, and the car runs bad and smells just like gas. I like the idea of replacing the coils and plugs. the codes I pick up are 53 & 71. tHE CAR RUNS VERY RICH. I will also try the idea of checking coolant temp sensor, but can you give me a detail of how it could be causing the car to flood and burn rich. The injectors were replaced by a cheaper mechanic and he didn't take off the fuel rail. But all the injetcors repaced were rebuilt pythons with all new o-rings. When the injectors were installed it ran like a brand new (very powerfull) maxima. I was all excited I drove to the drive threw store then all those nasty symptoms happened after I was pulling in my drive way.. the next day the car was hard to start and was stinking just like gas out exaust and misfiring from multiple cylinders. The exaust blows extra hard and feels hot. I will be going in for a second diagnostic but would like all info you guys can help out with, tHANKS.....
