Things I hate about my Max

The only thing I hate about my max is the trunk button located on the left side door. I'm still wondering what the hell made them put the trunk button there. When I have something in my pocket, it always seems to poke the button and open the trunk either right when i close my door or sometimes even in mid drive. ;( Kind of stupid how you can still pop the trunk while driving...

I must agree. It must be some pretty large pockets you've got to reach the button. My only complaint is my oil leak. I've had it for over a year and I've been too busy to fix it or diagnose it.

Ditto.........
I hate the cheapo e-brake boot, the car dents fairly easily, and the bearings in the manual tranny are crap.

I'm 5'11 and 206, have power seats, and I hate stuff falling out of my pockets and sliding under the seat.
And oh yeah, the Bose HU.

Armelius, why do you single out Ontario, I used to live in Florida and grouped all the Canadians together (the old ones anyway)

Not to hijack this thread, but looking at Themajesticking's signature, I've noticed how similar the front ends of camrys, accords, and maximas looked during the late 90's. Why is that?

lol. Everytime I show somebody a pic of the max they're like......Um.....It looks just like the camry. I only got it because it was much faster. I think the camry is 16valve. All the cars do look alike.

I've owned my 95SE since day 1 and have never had a problem once with the trunk button. My suggestion is to eat less fast food and get some exercise!

MaxxAddict-

From what I've noticed, during the mid 90's is when all the car companies started going with the "roundish" look. At first I had a hard time telling one car apart from the other. I was driving a 3rd gen when all that started. I used to complain about that all the time. I still love the square-ish look of the early 90's the best. But I can't deny the fact that the newer cars may look round, but are superior in pretty much every way.

But why do they base their designs off each other?

My educated guess would be that since they are competitors, they know what type of automobile the buyer is looking for (aesthetics, a certain degree of luxury/comfort, etc). Therefore the car companies give buyers looking for that type of car several similar, but different options.

I hate the way my Maxima gets 21mpg on a good week, I hate how plain the SE gauges look (chrome rings on the way), I hate the way my clear corners keep popping off (which is completely my fault), I hate how slow the seat heaters are, and I hate how easily the paint gets chipped/scratched/dented.

Man, you must be spoiled. You're complaining about the good stuff. The SE gagues arent' that bad and 21mpg aint that bad, and slow heat seaters? My car has every option but heat seaters. You're lucky to have em. I feel ya on the scratches and dents though.

i hate how my car takes about 90% of my paycheck, how i waste away coutless hours of my life on this damn website and how my friends think i'm a loser because I obsess over my car more than anything.

but other than that, the only the only thing i don't like is how rusty some things can get, bolts and nuts especially. makes working on everything that much harder. a bolt-on is no longer a bolt-on. it's a torch/cut/break/buy new bolt/waste a day-on.

woo! enough ranting for one day! I love my car!
(and the trunk, not so much a problem for me...)

also to save a lot of money! they only had to design one Max, but got the I30 out of it also, or vice versa.

That's why we go to Max meets. So we can feel normal sometimes. They may be friends, but we're family. Come to the dark side Luke.

I also hate the power seats. They are to slow and when im working on the dash or something upfront. I dont know what else i hate about it.

i hate the KS being so cheap and breaking. and my engine mounts. but i love it. and the reason why they all look the same is because of research. you always hear on .org that nissan put millions of dollars into the performance of our cars, but you never here that they spent as much, if not more in analizing the market, finding a suitable age group, and the price range for that age group, what they like, what size car. this is why our car is a sedan not a sports car, they could make more money that way because the market wants a sedan, not a sports car. its also to be compe***ive. i was in this competition sponsored by BYDV, used to be sponsored by Chrysler. we needed to make an entire plan for making a special edition car of our choice. we got top 20 out of at least 400 teams. a 2750 lb, 421 h.p. 473 ft. lbs of torque, awd drive similar to STi, paddle shifters (smg trans), and could shut down cylinders (8,6,4) so it could still get 50 miles a gallon or better highway. cant beat being faster than a ferrari for less $50k. oh, we did CAD work to, and a clay model, which we painted with touch-up paint in my garage that looked better than a team who got it pro. painted.

Read the stickies and try to figure out what may be going wrong with your car. It will give you a general idea of how our cars function. If you still have questions, start a thread and ask. I'm sure people will be more than happy to help you out.

i hate the paint on the car, very cheap and not durable by any stretch..i wish they made the max in RWD, the car handles like a grandma tank (compared to the 240 i traded for my max), there are way too many sensors in this car..i never had to replace one on my old 240, and on this car ive had for a thousand miles ive gone through a ks, and an o2 sensor.

For the amount of Ranting of done on my max, I still love it to death for some reason, and i dunno why lol. Maybe its just bc its a max. And people that drive maximas, are just better. period.
