XM sat. radio-mounting antenna suggestions? Pics?

Seems like the electronics forum has been deleted. It's been while since I have last been on. Anyhow, I recently installed XM in the max and have the antenna mounted on the trunk lid right up next to the glass ( it is tinted glass ) Today, I was in the city and my dropouts were insane. I dont want it on the roof because I don't like the fact that I have to stretch out the rubber molding behind the rear glass to install the antenna there. What if I were to mount it under the spoiler, in one of the little spaces to the side. It's plastic so I dont believe the signal would have a problem right? would it make my reception better? I am thinking that the rear tinted glass is acting as wall even though the antenna is mounted outside. I was showing off the XM to my parents today and it was kinda embarrasing with all the dropouts ( but then again I was in the manhattan.

You don't have to pull out the rubber around the glass that much. I put one in my sisters car and just put it right on the top of the front windshield but moved it right onto the roof. The wire is so thin that you barely move the molding. I think it has to be higher up anyway. But anyway... the audio/electronics forums is still there.

i've got xm in one of my cars, and two places in my house. I swear that just walking next to the antenna in one of my house locations makes it drop out for a second. antennas are such a pain.

get sirius; for the best reception you need to have it on your roof and putting the wire under the weather stripping isnt that big of a deal just use a credit card to hold it back

First, Sirius >>> XM

Second, you can just do a roof mounted mag antenna like my dad:

Or a body-colored stick-on on the trunk, like me:
