resetting ecu

i read the part on resetting ecu and it talked about a screw you need to turn. but when i took off that little piece of tape to uncover the screw there was no screw there. so how else do i reset the ecu? i heard of disconnecting the battery but for how long? thanks guys

What year of cr do you have? Why would you want to reset the ECU anyway by d/cing it, and not getting any codes?

The screw is a little ways inside that hole. You'll have to fish around, but be carefull, and be gentle. You can unhook the battery and it will reset the light, but whatever code you had before is still stored in the ecu. Half an hour should do it, but don't quote me.

man that ecu looks funny. first of all there are no leds to get the code from its like either its a different one or something it looks weird.........oh oooops the check engine light gives codes. but anyways, if i turned the right screw isnt everything supposed to reset like the clock and radio?

Here, read this thread.

This will show you how it's done.
Try reading all the stickies first. It's good to inform yourself on how everything works on your car before you start tinkering with it. I learned this lesson myself after breaking a few things.
