this is the stupidest mistake i could ever make.. My battery was dead, so I went to jump it. And i hooked it up backwards (neg. to pos. / pos. to neg.) ...Now my interior lights arent going on (window switches, gauges, etc.) and when it was jumped the right way the car would start for a couple seconds, then just konk out... I checked my fuses and the 120A Battery fuse is blown. Has anyone ever did this or know someone who did it? Please help I dont know where to get that fuse

Man that sucks. I always like triple check the polarity when I do this, and then again. I can see this happening if one of the batteries you are using is very dirty. Hopefully the fuse got you out of any issues.

Replace the fuse, go get the battery checked at AutoZone and most likely, replace it.

Hehe...never heard of that before....arcing stuff all over yes

The 2 basic ways you will find out if stuff works is to check everything with a multimeter or just replace the fuse and try her out. If certain stuff isn't working...you'll just have to start narrowing it down and replacing other stuff.

I blew that same fuse when I was saudering an ignition wire for my alarm and the gun touched a metal plate. Not a big deal. I bought the fuse at napa. It was like 3 bucks. But in my car when i blew that fuse not a single thing in the vehicle worked. Crazy crazy.

i did this one time on one of my old cars (could have been my 91 Max) and it didn't do anything but melt the jumping wires. Freaked me out cause I didnt know what was going on.

I did this a while back. I felt really stupid. Got the fuse at a dealer $12 no one else had it. The fuse unscrews somehow, you can't just pull it out. Everything will be fine when you replace the fuse.

I had a mechanic do it so I can't say for sure how it came out.
