Keep it under 3k and you will never know the difference... Well except the whistle you can sometimes get at around 2k to 2.5k but it sounds so cool...
If you become one with lead foot then it is loud but it sounds like a V8 lol... I love mine.

If you feel like you don't know if you are going to keep it, you could get a RAI, otherwise known as a POPCharger. The sounds are very similar. There is a very slight vacuum sound at idle, no difference in the 1000-2700 range, and then the cool sound after that. If you end up not liking the sound, you could always take it back off with no damage to the car. Everyone that has gotten in to my car, including my grandparents, think that it is a really nice sound.

No man I hear it around 3.6k or so then it gets louder the higher the RPM goes... I mean normal driving and you will hear little or no sound but you will hear a difference...
WOT and the VQ says HELLO!

BTW No offence intended...

Man I do not yet have the Y-Pipe so at anything over 85 all I hear is the intake but is really not all that loud... I did notice when there is a load on the engine ie a hill or 5th from 65-80 you can hear the growl... Man I love that sound...

I agree that you really don't hear it too bad at 100, but try downshifting and then getting the RPMs abouve 5000. You'll DEFINITELY hear it as compared to the stock air box system. It really doesn't get to be offensive to me until about 120.

Right now, the Popcharger. My friend's current Max has the PR CAI, and having driven both extensively, I can say that the sounds are very similar, and performance is pretty much equal too(neither him nor I noticed any difference in between the two).
