cefiros with hids

i just installed my cefiros, as of now i have some luminic bulbs and the output is ok. heres my question, if i upgrade my h4s to some helio hids will it be like night and day, or should i just save my money. I also heard that these might melt the housing in my cefiros is this true yay or nay?

HIDs should not "melt" your Cefiro lenses (OE or otherwise)...

here are some DiVX of HID in the OE Cefiros:
http://instructional1.calstatela.edu...Files/hilo.avi
http://instructional1.calstatela.edu...es/startup.avi

Light pattern i heard is not great on the non OE aftermaket one.

The problem with "melting" was using the higher 21W filament as "parking lights" in the corner 1157 bulbs. Only the small plastic cap melted inside it.

they are a pos.. should have gotten the clear oem ones... you'll actually get a decent beam pattern with them using a shielded hid bulb..

So the dark ones are crap? What's wrong with them? I'm thinking about getting cefiros since my corner/parking lights are messed up anyways.

You almost have no choice but to retro them now with real hid projectors since the light output sucks. PM HomerMac, he maybe able to help you out more with cefiros.

Interesting...do you have these pics or was this in person? I myself run the smoked cefiros with h4 shields and phillips d2r bulbs, and there are a few hotspots, but an overall nice beam pattern. Next time I think I'll just black out the OEM cefiros. That will take care of things.
