please look over my suspension shopping list

i plan to replace my suspension in the coming months, soon as i'm done retrofitting projectors in my other car. here's what i had planned

tokico illumina
H&R springs
kyb dust boots front and back
kyb strut mounts ( do i need front and back?)
lower control arm both side (ebay ones comes with ball joint and bushing right?)
inner tie rods ( i see outter tie rod ends on ebay, do i need that too?
sway bar bushings and end links

my stock suspension is 125k+ miles old and i doubt anything has ever been replaced. what else do you suggest i change?

thanks

nice list.. id skip the new strut mounts if i were you.. they really dont go bad.. all they are is an insanely hard peice of rubber... picture the big rubber bumpers they use at loading docks when tractor trailers are backing in.. trust me yours are fine, and its not like there really cheap either.. dont forget the paper isolater gaskets for the struts.. theres a REALLY GOOD list of other little stuff you can replace floating around

there's a local member selling a set of fronts for $40. i thought thats a pretty good price...but if i don't really need it then i guess i'll save that $40 for something else.

the control arms come with all the bushings and ball joints already pressed in.
if you get the inner tie rods, get the outter tie rod ends too

i just ordered all the front end stuff too.. what you should do is email the guy from world suspension off ebay, and ask him to set up one aution with all the parts you want so you can save on shipping. i just bought the lca's, inner and outter tie rods, and sway bar links for like $200 and $35 for shipping.

Get mzmtg's rear shock mounts. They extend shock travel for a smoother ride.

these do work, but they are not a very good design. you can spend the money to get them if you choose to, or just turn the setting down on the illumina's one more notch.

H&R = = waste of money.

if you want to drop your car either drop it right or dont bother at all. H&R's will barely drop you by an inch. if you want springs go with tein S. my only suggestion to you is true coilovers. u wont regret this decision.

i think they work, but are a very high price for a very poor design.

as njmaxseltd pointed out in another thread, the kyb dust boots come with shorter bumbstops on them. which allows a little more travel for your strut before bottoming out. its been a while since ive changed mine, so i didnt remeber that. and btw, my kyb's are still fine.

I'm not trying to turn this into the "which springs are the best" thread, but if you want lower than H&R, I would suggest progress. it drops more than H&R but less than Sprints. Its about a 1.8ish drop in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Never had S-techs but heard they were good.

I got my Progress springs on Nismotics recomendation - they are excellent springs. i love the ride quality.

Nismotic yours look lower than mine do for some reason. i have my stock wheels on now but i borrowed a friends 18's for awhile and the gap up front didnt seem as low as yours. not sure what tranny you have - i have a 5spd, but would the difference in weight make yours rest lower if you are auto?
