My 1000+ watt system in my car has just killed my alternator....ARGH! This is extremely frustrating and at a really sh!tty time. Awhile back I read about someone getting a 200AMP alternator for his car. Does anybody know where I can get this? Oh and BTW for you audio freaks. Think getting an Optima Yellow Top will prevent me from frying my alternator. A 1.2f cap is definately going in once the alternator is replaced.

You may want to post this in the audio forum. The guys there should be able to point you in the right direction.

I had been runnig a little over a kilowatt of power in my car for years with no issues with my alternator. I did not use a cap, just my Rangehandler from Sears.
