Place to buy Hole Saw for CAI?

For those of you that have a Place racing style set up, or any other set up that requires drilling into the fender well. Where did you buy your 3.25" hole saw bit? I need to get it today so the net is not an option. We have a Lowes and Sears here and I checked both of there sites and I could not find where they sell just one single bit that big, they do have an adjustable one but I am guessing that is more expensive than just a 3.25". Please let me know what local store you got yours from. THanks.

yeah I figured it would be about $20, the only thing is we do not have an ACE hardware here.

Go back to Lowe's, ask for a door lock installation kit. Get the one for wooden doors, the metal-cutting hole saws are more expensive. I don't know if this mod you're doing has to be a very specific size, but check the size of the cutter in the kit.

its a place racing style, it comes off the TB>>mid pipe>>maf and adaptor>>pipe going into fender well

-and yes the hole does need to be a specific size, I want a 3.25" hole because I am going to use weather stripping around the hole once I drill the hole to give it a more finished look. Also, I think I would rather go ahead and get the bit made for drilling metal incase I need to use it again in the future I am guessing the one made for cutting metal will hold up better

I used to manage hardware store in NYC. What you need is a 3 1/2 inch hole saw for metal. The saw itself isnt expensive. What is expensive it the adapter that is used to lock the saw on the drill. The adapter comes either in 3/8 size or 1/2 inch size. Make sure you get the one that matches your drill socket. I would suggest you ask friends or family if they happen to have one. Your mostly not going to be using it again after you installed your cai. As a matter of fact, mine is still collecting dust in my garage. But if you were to buy it, try to find the adapter and the saw seperatly as a whole set of saws(with adapter) are expensive. Hope this helps.

btw...you also need a drill bit to drill a pilot hole before you start drilling the 3 1/2 inch hole.

Thanks for the advice. I have already asked everyone I know, and no one has one. I may not use it often, but most of my friends have modified cars so I am assuming it will come in handy some other time.

If can get to a welding place that has a plasma cutter, that might save alot of time and cost about the same to get it done.

yeah I have gone thru a few options, but I want to do the hole saw deal. I have done several CAI's with a Saw-Zaw, I just dont like the finish on the hole you create. So I know what I am looking for I am just curious as to where people are buying them.

Plasma cutter will leave a nice finish cut. Not like a sawzall. But you know what you are doing. Just giving a possible alternative.

Do it right ... spend the 15-20 bucks in Lowes/Home Depot for a head that turns into a nice circular head and drill that ***** up. Make sure you put some sort of stripping or something between the intake and the hole ... I regret not doing that.

I went to Sears and they did not have one big enough, so I went to Lowes and they have tons of them!! I would recomend Lowes to anyone else looking for a hole saw...the intake is in and I drilled a nice hole
