No ECU codes what could be the problem?

In the mornings and sometimes durring the day my car just cranks and wont start. As soon as I start pushing on the gas it starts up. It seems like my fuel injection might not work. Without codes I dont know what to do. The max dosent sputter or drive crappy at all once it is started. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone have any sugesstion?

You say no codes, do you mean no Check Engine light is on? Or you checked for codes and got the 55 all clear ?

Could be your Engine Coolant Temp Sensor.. this will give you simlar symtoms when starting .. rpms normally fall through the floor when starting and then recover and then fall til you hit the gas etc - no harm in doing the Ohm check as per the stickies (ECTS Sensor)

Clean out the throttle body, and IACV. Also replace the air/fuel filters if they haven't been changed within the 15k for the air filter, and 30k for the fuel filter. Also run Chevron Techron through the fuel tank.

Extended cranking on cold starts seems to be a common problem on many 4th Gens. The root cause could be something as trivial as a dirty TB, or something like a weak fuel pump.

Hey killer---yes, no check engine light and no codes come up. I had a jeep that had a bad temp sensor and it had the same symptoms now that I think of it. The only thing is that it threw a check engine light. Ill check it out though.
THANKS

It may just be operating slightly out of range and isn't operating far enough out of spec for the ECU to determine its bad and throw the code

Not saying you personally But...

I see the "Clean the TB" response quite abit, IMHO its BS!!

As you can see my TB is pretty filthy and has absoulutely NO impact on me starting the car pefectly everytime

Acutally ditto on nearly your entire list of things to check, I may be proved wrong but I'm betting its none of the above - people seem to suggest these things as there the simplest for the novice mechanic to do - ahh so is washing the windows but I doubt that will help either
