95 Max owners: Anyone had problems with stock alternater??

My alt. recently died on me. I had a system in my car, but its only 2 12" subs and a Memphis 500.1 amp, along with speakers and a head unit. But thats the only amp. Could the alt. dying be from my system or just the car being old? Anyone else experienced this problem?

Alternators die from age, abuse (too many gizmos) and because of poor rebuilding. If your original alternator just failed, that's just from age more than anything else.

I still have the original alternator and starter on my 95SE bought new. I replaced the original battery in April 2003. I have no electrical or sound mods.

The stock alternator died 2 weeks after I bought the MAX, luckily I had Warranty on it but I still saw it as a bad sign...

Still on my stock alternator. Approaching 200k. Battery had to be changed about 4 years ago. Panasonic HU and a 50x4 amp.

as far as I know all stock when bought (last November), battery was pretty bloated and had to have it replaced too.

Replaced it twice so far since April. The second one was a poor rebuild.

My original alternator died this pat winter. I didn't have any audio mods at the time. But, we are talking about a 10 year old part, they die, it's a part of life.

Alternator on my '99 died at about 76,000 miles, 5.5 years old. No system in my car. They just go bad sometimes.
