im breaking this one down into a two part series. today i wanted to find out how much the car weighs in full trim. cost me ten dollars to put her on the scales. the total weight is without me in the car.

Findings:
1997 Nissan Maxima SE
* with all extras ( sunroof etc.)
1300 kg / 2,866 lbs

I thought that was pretty good for a 97 model fully loaded. of course i have been chipping away at the weight with different mods and things for a year or two.

Next week im going to strip her down to drag racing weight and see how the tail of the tape goes.

Im still weighing in at a mighty 216 lbs. so my plans are to rid myself of 16 lbs before nov. 5 & 6 the dates of the upcoming races.

So with full trim:
car - 2,866 lbs.
car with driver - 3082 lbs.

 

wow.. 2866lb sounds low well to me anyways. What weight reductions have you done already.

I always thought maxima's were in the 3200+ lbs. Well aleast my stock fully loaded GLE.

 

ya that does seem light, you still have the full body kit uh? auto transmission weight more

 

he is a 5spd too

 

stock fully loaded GLE's are just over 3000.

Hopefully my GLE is a bit less, being 5spd and all.

 

Nice. My stock 95 GXE beater weighs 2930 without me or spare or jack, with 1/4 tank.

My 96 GXE weighed 2820 at its lightest if my memory is correct. It would have been about 2780 or so if I removed the SFCs and the RSB. Same parameters as above.

yea my GLE is a freakin pig to, seems like I got on the scales out at Weyerhauser and I was lookin at 3400 somethin (doesnt help that ive got 3/4" mdf false floor in the trunk that f'rickin weighs a ton, and all the amps and subs and 'chit)
