Does anybody know where I can find a rebuilt, new, or good used 5 speed manual "cheap" for a 96 SE Max? I live in Wyoming and it's hard to find parts for any year maxima here. I am not wanting to dump $1000's of dollars in the car. It's only worth like maybe $3000 and I was not planning on keeping it (want to upgrade to a 5 gen)... I wouldn't know the first thing about rebuilding the trans so that option is out. I haven't driven my maxima in maybe a month and a half because I don't want to wreck the trans case if it completly gives out. I miss driving my maxima.

bro, try carpart.com. I got a 2001 tranny for my '96, with about 50k on it for $650 from MN. Shipping to MA was an additional $200. You just have to find someone to stick it in. If anything, this should give you a ballpark.

BTW , its running excellent 4k later!
