Its probably tucked up inside the dash somewhere. Did you check to see if the batteries are any good in your remote? Did the car respond at all when you were trying to enter programming mode?

i put a new battery in the remote and when i start to program durin the enter you key in and out the hazzards flash twice and then thats it. i read that their supposed to flash again when i press the lock button on the remote to mean that its finished but it doesnt. I was thinking that the unit was somewhere in the trunk.

Can someone either post the programming instructions or provide a link to them. I have searched but no luck.

Thanks,
neilca

Check the FAQ or how-to stickies... the instructions are in there.

jd - try going through the complete programming process. I found on other forums that people didn't get the lights to flash at all sometimes, but the programming still worked when they completed the process.

i did. Still no luck. I think that the owner before me removed it because i looked in the trunk and on the right side i have this connector that is just hanging in there that i think is supposed to plug up to it. Does anyone have a pic of it so i know what its supposed to look like? Thanks for all the help...

I haven't had a chance to pull apart my trunk yet to take a picture, but I know most keyless systems have a wire not plugged into anything, because thats where a tech would hook up the diagnostic tool to program the remotes.

Search for maxima remote on ebay and buy any remote from 95-99 model years.

Programming instructions are in the Stickys at the top of the forum.

hey guys, i was looking for a new unit on ebay and i was just checkin to see if the numbers will work on my 95 max.

part # 28594 4OU21
FCC ID A269ZUA079
ISC 700 K1359
Sereal # H51279282

i noticed that the ISC number is the same as on the back of my remote, but the FCC ID is off by the last number, on the unit its a 9 and on the remote its a 8.

i bought a 95 GLE and the owners said it didnt come with one. i still bought the remote off ebay for 25 bucks and tried to program it...but it didnt work. then i took the watch battery out and tested it. it was bad. i got a new battery and it programmed and worked in 2 minutes. i hope you all tested the battery before you wrote it off as bad.

and my windows roll down too...its hella nice

I got a remote from a salvage yard and took it to a Nissan dealership. I had to pay $3 for a battery but the guy programmed it in 10 seconds for no cost at all.
