5th Gen clutch question

What year (if it matters) 5th gen clutch should I buy for my 97?
I assume 2000 or 2001 since they were still 3.0
I will buy, pressure plate, clutch disc, release bearing and pilot bearing for 2000 or 2001.
let me know if this will work, please.
Are there any fitment issues I should know about. Is will it be a direct replacement for the 4th gen clutch?
Anything else I should know before I buy the stuff and drop the tranny?

Thank you.

Your correct, 00 or 01 as they shared the same tranny as the 4th gen. I've heard the 00 is a better year to go with but that was one person who said it. I'd say either year.

It is what physically seperates the flywheel and clutch when you depress the clutch pedal. If you're buying a trans, it should come with it.

Here is almost all of the info that I've seen on the 5th gen. PP swap, and I've summarized in this post (see link). I suggest you read this...I was the third person to have this done IIRC, so I've been able to see a lot of ideas from other members play out. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....65#post4116065
