crashed my max today :(

yeah this is wut happ...I was getting late to school. So I was taking a left turn on a two lane road each way so four total lanes with a median. So I pulled up to the median and stopped. I looked to the oncomming traffic there was this van coming to take a left turn. So it blocked my view since that van was at right of me. Before he took a left turn I didnt c any other cars behind him. so After that guy was on the left lane, I pulled out. As soon as I pull out this white ford van came out and my the top right portion of my bumper hit the van just in front of the wheels. Since I was only going 5-10 mph an the van was going 45-50 I spinned out and stopped on the median. Here are some pics. My max only took front hit. the engine didnt take any damage. Its driving and is as smooth as before. Yeah its my fault. Since I'm only 18, my insurance is gonna sky rocket through the roof. I feel sorry for my parents, they have to pay for all this.

Here is the front part of the car. The bumper flew out and my side lights disappeared except for one. Also this steel rod is hanging. I dont think the stucture is damaged but open to suggestions.

Here is the side of the car. this is where i got hit pretty much.

Here is the steel rod connection up close.

Here is my bumper finally. there is really nothing wrong with it, except some scratches on the left and the three of the middle connections are snapped so its not a hole. But the two side ones are fine.

Man I've never came up to a median before in my life, since I was in hurry I decided to come up today. It sux........

Ouch!!!!!! That is gonna be expensive to fix. Dont be so fast to say there isnt structural damage. The frame extends almost all the way to the end of the front fender. Good luck man good to know you are alright.

ok that "metal rod" hanging is your actual bumper. not the plastic bumper cover, so to get all that fixed prolly 700-1000 depends on where you take it. and how damaged your bumper really is and if it tore the holes in the frame where the bumper was connected at.

...why? do you not pay for any insurance at all? if you didn't before, you will now.

But that's a lot of damage, and insurance aside, this will not be a quick fix so to speak.

Sorry to hear that man, I had a similar accident when I was 17. I was trying to cross a busy intersection, my view was blocked but I thought it would be okay, so I gunned it and this old guy didn't stop in time so he broad sided my rear passenger door and I spun off the road. Poor Sage Mist was in the shop for over a month! Fortunately my insurance price stayed the same...I was (still am) under my Dad's name.

Hope you get things worked out alright.

he would be best off with a Stillen Lip Kit. the favorite around here. which means he would still need a new bumper. although there is the skyline...

I don't know how that worked out, I was so happy! My parents pay my insurance too and I was scared it would be too expensive for them. I think just because I was listed as a secondary/occasional driver on the car. If I was primary driver I'm sure it would have shot up because even now, if I put my Maxima in my name it would cost me about $6500 per year!

And no I cant get a Stillen body kit because my dad reported to the insurance and they are going to tow the car to body shop and fix it for 500 deductible.

so, they'll put a new bumper on, and then buy the lip kit and have the paint it at the same time. can't pass that up!

I'm not sure how the laws are where you live but I doubt they clear your record at 18. I got a fine for my accident and 2 points off my license and as far as I know they will be on there until next month (3 years after my accident), but I'm not even positive about that.

bah dont say that...it is the easy route, but chances are this is his only car, and he knows how it runs, and buying a new car is a PITA... too bad it was your fault, at least you admit it (ever notice its always THEIR fault) i respect that. IMHO, the max is a fine car, and unless you were going to buy another, fix it.

They usually clear your criminal record(misdemeaners) not traffic violations.
