I think it would look good on maroon, black out clears up front, add AE mod and you'll have a nice theme going.

it would depend on your state, but I'm very sure most to all tail mods are legal assuming the lights are decently visible when lit.

stick with 95 tails do led, would be much more cost effecient.

Or. . . CM Red Clears with Leds, or All Black tails all leds very bright to show thru the many coats of shade. . . just a thought .. .

local laws may be different from state to state, but most likely, yes. They are illegal here. I drove my car for about a year with those blacked out tails before a cop got me for them, but I got it because it was tacked onto a speeding ticket.

Yeah, the old Jettas come stock with tinted tails. I've never gotten any flack from the cops here, even though they ARE douche bags.

First time I used testors tint spray, but didnt know it wasnt weather proof and didnt use any clear coat so it cracked off. Second time was with nite shades.

Anyone else use anything else besides nightshade? Ive currently have my tails and signals tinted too but the white/clear area thats tinted looks like it has a hint of purple instead of a black tint.

my tails are tinted, you can see pics on my cardomain. I had Jon's Tinted tails to mine. They are painted with PPG paint and clear coat.

that kinda looks retarded. corners are wayyyy to dark to match up with the headlights. only do that if u plan on retrofittin some hids and blackin out the headlight housings

cool man, appreciate the opinion, although i didnt ask for one. I dont plan on retrofitting projectors, if thats what you meant. and i dont plan on having those headlights too much longer either. I had some niteshade spray and i wanted to black out everything, so i did. the AE mod doesnt work too well with the 95/96 headlights because the lense is not completely clear.
i did what i could with what i had, nobody said i was trying to win a car show competition. plus, i really like it. i'd much rather have that than a clear lense, or have the housing blacked of the corner lights. trust me i experimented.
i will most likely be getting cefiros with the blacked housing soon, just fyi, i know how concerned you are.
