help me out with my code.......

i have my inspection in 4 days and after clearing this code twice it just comes back the same day-its the 0305 code which says

0305
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0305 points to a problem with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor. This sensor is a thermistor (a resistor with a value which varies inversely with temperature). The EGRTS is used by the Engine Control Module to test the EGR system operation. Since the signal from the EGRTS is not used for engine operation your car should run perfectly well despite having the Check Engine Light on.

Possible causes of DTC 0305 include ...
- harness or connectors (The EGRTS circuit is open or shorted)
- bad EGRTS
- malfunction elsewhere in the EGR system

The EGRTS may be tested with an ohmmeter.
- at "D" degrees F the resistance should "R" (in Megohms) should be ...
D = 32, R = 0.68-1.11
D = 122, R = 0.09-0.12
D = 212, R = 0.017-0.024

what exactly is that and where is it? i was thinking it was just bad gas is that possible? what do you all think

This an easy one. The EGR temp sensor is located on the EGR guide tube. If you pull the IACV off the car, you'll see the metal EGR guide tube bolted to the back of the plenum. The EGR temp/flow sensor is connected to that metal EGR tube.

In fact, the connector for the EGR flow sensor plugs into the harness on a bracket that is held onto the IACV - i.e. you have to remove that little bracket to get to the 3rd IACV bolt (when you pull the IACV).

I hope that makes sense.

Do you know where/what the IACV is?
Do you have a Haynes Manual?

IACV :

EGR tube : near the firewall right under the IACV

The EGR temp sensor is the thing attached to the black wire on the right side of the EGR tube just to the bottom-right of the flange (the sensor has a silver collar)...

If all that still doesn't sense... then I dunno how else to help you

Most likely replaced. Now that you know what/and where, you can try probe the terminals as suggested to make sure its bad.

Probably a dealer only part - so try any one of the online wholesalers (courtesy, jr nissan, pinnacle, etc.)
