Fuel Pump Replacement

OK NEW update...got her towed for free with insurance and had it checked for $30 and it is actually the fuel pump....now I read about the install but have a few questions. I cannot start the car so how would I relieve the pressure in the lines? Also I JUST filled up the tank so can I still do it when it is that full?? Please respond ASAP .... I wanna know if this is something I can do myself or if I should have them do the work.

If the car died because of a fuel pump failure, then there is no pressure in the fuel line.

Where is common sense these days?

The full tank wount matter either, the access for the fuel pump is on top of the fuel tank via an access cover under your rear set.

Ding! fries are done!

The car didn't DIE it just wouldn't start which means there should still be gas and pressure from previosuly being driven....... clearly there has to be some pressure in the lines since I just drove it yesterday and it just sat....the pressure doesn't just relieve itself.....second the FAQ and how-to said it is good to have 1/4 a tank or less.....sorry man....its not everyday that I open the fuel pump and take a big wiff like u

Like said above if the car died because of fuel pump failure then there is no pressure in the lines. And it is suggested that the tank be on the lower half so that may pose a problem. but you do not need to remove the fuel tank for the replacement, you through the back seat by pulling the tabs under the back seat. Read stickies for more info

Hey - if you are really concerned with the fuel level, just siphon some out into a fuel container...

Other than that, you might get (probably will) get some fuel spillage when you disconnect the lines, but keep a few rags handy and you'll be fine.
