tranny shifts differently varying by rpms

so my tranny shifts hard when rpm's are kept ~2k. when the engine is pushed up to 3.5-4k rpm, the tranny shifts unnoticeably. I've gotten used to the harsh 1-2, but this is annoying.

thinking of doing a simple tranny drain/fill. just wanted to get the steps confirmed: (1) drain from that one bolt where you stick the 1/2 drive nut onto (2) replace the bolt, and then take off the other bolt going in the filler hole (3) add atf through dipstick hole until fluid comes out of fill hole. (4) replace filler hole bolt. anything to add? completely wrong?

there's only one bolt on auto tranny that you should know of - the drain plug...
harsh 1-2 shifts were fixed by nissan on 2k2 and newer max. As for us... we get used to it.

There is an real easy fix to hard shifts. Buy a clutch petal and 5Spd-transmission.

God I hate my auto.
