Nitrous is in the trunk, doesn't have anything to do with AC. The AC was removed before I even owned the car.

Heh... I usually drive a vert and I don't think I'd give up my A/C. Putting the top down gets you a nice breeze, but when it's 95+ out you still just bake where you sit no matter what you do.

Bijan, like 2damax said, you're in ATL. Why would you give up your a/c in that hot-*** weather?

Several of youz guys are saying you run without A/C to save on gas, yet you're willing to sacrifice the A/C for 400hp, which would eat 2-3 times the gas you're burning now?

tell me where that makes sense.

Man in a way i would give up my ac in a way i wouldnt. Cause where i live it hits 105 everyday... and we only get 2 months of winter and winter isnt that cold winter for me is like 65 degrees. If im lucky itll get down to 45 degrees. Here i need it. but 400 hp is a lot... HMMMM that is a good question though :P

I was thinking about this thread when I left work for lunch today. The weather is soooo nice right now. I can't wait till I leave in an hour. I had the sunroof open and the windows down and good music playing and I thought I was in heaven. I don't think we'll have it like this but for a month or two, though.

Here in the ATL, life would suck with no AC. I still don't see why you would need to lose AC to get to 400whp anyways. Any of the turbo kits would put you there with enough boost, and none require you to lose AC.

I'm somewhere over 350whp, and I've still got AC and PS. Maybe I'll turn it up to 13 psi and see if the car will hit 400whp.

If I lived in Norcal or somewhere with mild weather, maybe I wouldn't care, but here in the SE, it's very humid in summers and hot too.

Until your whole car smells like sulfur. Automotive grade nitrous smells pretty bad to prevent people from using it to get high.

He's asking because there is a turbo kit that puts a big turbo right in front. so you have to deep six the AC I assume.

But anyway. I wouldn't. Why? Because the AC is not about being cool. It's also being warm. It will warm before the car gets warm. Not a big deal as the maxima warms up fast. But the DEFROST also uses the AC system as a drier. Ever wonder why the windows clear up so fast? It's because it's blowing dry air onto it. So say hello to wet interior windows and frosted windows in the wintertime. That is if it gets that cold.

If I had to give up these kinds of features so I could have 400hp, I'd say no. As I could run a dedicated RWD like that easier and probably cheaper. 400hp with all the ac/radio/cd/leather/moon roof etc.... = cool. 400hp FWD with all the subsystems ripped out = not worth my time

I've driven the car without AC all summer and I don't mind. Windows always down anyway, even last year when it was stock and had AC. I'm so used to it that I don't even use AC when driving my mom's 04.

Well Bijan I haven't had AC for like 2 years so yeah I would probably do it. I've learned to cope with it (turn air on full blast, roll down windows, and STAY HYDRATED)

Most 400+hp cars today that are sold to the public have A/C.
Why in the world would I want to sacrifice it?
I don't get the purpose of this thread? :

I think you are having a hard time realizing the maxima is a 4 door family car

If you want to go fast atleast use something better suited to do so.

Is everyone hating on Bijan because they really think he asked a dumb question or because they don't like the fact of Bijan having a boosted car that's faster than them??

You've been here some 2002 and think Bijan has a fast, let alone FI car?
