12V outlet on its way out?

Last night I tried to recharge my cell phone w/ the car charger my phone came w/. For some odd reason, my cell phone wasn't charging and the charger was plugged in securely. The light on the charger itself was on, but somehow nothing was recharging the phone. Until I got home, I was stuck w/ a dead cell phone. However, when I tried the charger in my Grand Cherokee, it worked like a charm. Does this mean my 12V outlet is going bad on my Max or the car charger itself is bad?

If the charger light was lit, then there was power there - plain and simple. Perhaps it was the connection from the charger to the phone that wasn't secured properly.

So the charger was getting power from the 12V socket, but the phone wasn't getting any power from the charger (i.e. not seated or plugged in properly to the charger cable).

you have to have the key in the on position on imports

check the fuse and wiring first, then look into getting a new socket. Should be pretty cheap, esp. if you snag one from a junk yard.
