I would say 600hp through a turbo and some spray out of the hole, a 1.6 60', and a race weight of 2800lbs. I certainly could be done with a VQ30, maybe not a stock one but it certainly could be done.

Nealoc187 has this car.

MardiGrasMax has a built 4.5gen now and once he dynos it, will prove to have the most powerful Maxima in existence.

Getting one of those still wouldn't get a MAXIMA into the 10's

Meh...supercars don't really do it for me. Sure they look cool and can have incredible performance stock, but i don't think i'd buy one even if i had the money. Maybe it's cus im just a low-key type of guy, but i think it would be more fun to modify a car that runs 14's stock to run 11's than to buy a car that runs 11's stock and lightly mod to run 10's.

I don't know why people are still talking about a RWD conversion on the Max. Even if you could reconstruct the firewall to cram a longitudinal engine and tranny in there, totally rebuild the rear suspension, and find some way to run the exhaust and the driveshaft together under the car without hanging one under the other and destroying your ground clearance, you'd still never overcome the idiocy of a 65/35 front-to-rear weight distribution with a TON of power to the rear wheels.

If you could do to the max what they did to this tiburon then i guess it would be 10s.

your all wrong just order one of these from Ebay!

If it can help you go back in time, it must add some kind of crazy horsepower.

my motorcycle did low tens and it had a 4/1 wtp ratio, a max would need roughly 750-800 hp to equal that.

Why not just gun it, travel back in time a couple seconds, and finish in 10 seconds?

That tiburon uses boosted 4-bangers that's why only around 600.

I'm looking at the Sept/Oct issue of R&T Speed featuring a very modified Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec on slicks and it quarter miles in 11.6 sec @ 122.7

Having personally modified many, many Nissan Skylines in GT3, I can assure you that one has to win a lot of races before having enough credits to make an R34 move that quick.

However, once the proper racing seats have been installed, the right paint job, and the appropriate vinyl graphics applied, I expect to be able to get my GLE somewhere in the low 12s. (Take another .3 off if I replace the stock gauges with those from an SE). With the right wheels and a wing, who knows how quick a Maxima can really be?

I was watching a few minutes of TF&TF on USA and I was amazed by Paul Walker's driving skills. He was able to re-map his ECU while traveling 140 mph down Hawthorne Blvd. That's some badass stuff. It's too bad that he over-ran his motor and blew his passenger-side floorboard bolts. That's a pretty expensive repair. Each of those fighter-jet type explosive bolts runs about $3500 wholesale.

You need a huge spoiler, an obnoxious body kit, 20 inch wheels, and 3 tone paint.

thats the dumbest thing ive ever seen, and has to be the biggest waste of money

i guess if someone else from another car forum see us do the same to a maxima, they would probably say the same.

10 second maxima is possible, just strip it down..all the way down
if they got little front wheel drive honda bubblebacks runnin 10s on b18s and boost, we could do it too

If someone got a 5th gen into the 11s all motor with the VQ35 and slicks, I dont see why a stripped track only 4th Gen with a VQ35, S/C, or turbo couldnt hit low 11s, high 10s. Perhaps a small shot of N20 to eliminate any turbo lag, but I think it's attainable without all the prayers, $1,000,000 and Jesus as the driver as people have been saying. Although Im sure that stuff would help

No one has even gotten close to 11s N/A. The best anyone has done NA is sr20den with a 12.7 and that's with a ton of mods and a custom IM.
Tilley, jclaw, and krismax have done low 13's with a 4th gen 3.5 swap.

You people don't seem to understand the power to weight ratio as well as the traction you need to achieve 10's. For a 3100lb car (with the drivers weight) with 700hp, you could achieve a 10.2. That's a power to weight ratio of 4.42lbs for every HP. Stock, the ratio is about 16lbs for every hp. If you had front tires that were 2 feet wide and 700hp, you could make the max run 10s. Oh, and that's assuming the engine wouldn't snap the CV joints like toothpicks or kill the tranny with that much power.

After 13-14 sec in the 1/4 mile, you start needing exponentially more power to go faster.

Assuming 3100lbs.....
15sec -
14sec - 265hp
13sec - 330hp
12sec - 425hp
11sec - 550hp
10sec - 750hp
9sec - 1000hp

Are you noticing a trend here??? Those numbers assume that you have enough traction to get that power to the ground.

keep in mind that at these speeds and times, it take exponentially more work to reduce the time by the same amount.

i.e., to go from 12.2 to 12.0 may take 75 more horespower, but to go
from 12.0 to 11.8 may take 100 more horepower. It's on a curve you see.
