Changing drivers side CV tomorrow

Is there anything I should know to help make it go more smoothly? I've never done this before, but I need it done by friday. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Just follow the instructions in the haynes manual. Driver's side is fairly easy. Should take you about an hour to an hour and a half.

Have a transport car handy incase you have to run and get an extra tool or something. hardest thing for me was breaking the axle nut.

Where did you get your axle? I need one too and dont have time to wait for Raxles to ship me one...

The Haynes reads: for automatic transmissions, the pass side axle may have to be removed to insert a large screw driver through the differential gears to knock the driver side axle out.

This is true......thats why I did both at the same time on mine.
The pass side carrier bearing was a ***** to get out though....

I got it From Autozone. They had one in stock. It was about 120 bucks and I'll get 55 back for the Core.


Thanks for the replys everyone. I won't have time to do it today, but i'm going to have all day tomorrow. Wish me luck.

If you are planning on relacing the entire axle, that is no need to put a screw driver to push the other axle out, just give it a good tug it should come out.

Ehh.. you'd be surprized... i just worked on a Hyundai Accent and i had to use a pretty large prybar to get it out...... it was stuborn as hell
