2003 OEM catback installed on a 99 SE

Anybody know if a 2003 SE OEM catback fit on a 99 SE?

Any mods required for the install?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The only item different is the muffler.

Why would you do the entire cat-back?

Cat-back aside, I'd even bet the 4th gen manifolds flow better than the 02/3.

Aren't the mid-pipe and inlet pipe a completely different shape? I think you can only use the muffler with some custom piping.

Yeah, just get the muffler. People have had good success with these.

EDIT: If he can get this locally, I can see why he'd want the whole catback. It's easier to bolt on the cat-back probably than it is to cut off and weld on a new muffler. (Especially if he hasn't got access to a cutter/welder)

I have a Stillen catback and now find it too loud. I offered a price for just the 03 muffler but the seller wishes to sell his entire catback, hence the question.

Thanks!

Yeah but the b-pipes are completely different... he'd have to cut and weld either way.

No offense taken.

So a 2003 SE stock catback can be bolted on a 99 SE without mods? I
apologize for sounding dumb, guys. Just want to be sure before I take the plunge.

To all who responded, thank you very much for your input. I'm glad I ran accross this forum and became a member!

Thanks!

The modifications needed won't be worth it, besides the muffler.

Maybe add a resonator since the Stillen is notorious for done/annoying-ness.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're different. They look similar, but the end of the b-pipe closest to the rear section is different because the 5th Gen b-pipe connects to the rear section inlet pipe via a tunnel of sorts over the beam so it curves up a lot more and the inlet pipe bends down more. I don't think the 4th Gen cat-back has such a construction, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No, the exhauts are VERY similar. It is just that most 4th gen bpipes go over the axle to the muffler. On 5th gens, the axleback goes over the axle to the muffer. I believe if you look at the Greddy exhaust pics, the 4th gen ones look just like the 5th gen ones.

I see... so its not so much the curvature of the piping, but more so the point at which they connect that is different.
