battery

how do i Disconnect the negative terminal of my car battery. can someone please provide me a picture of what i have to take off?

WTF? get a wrench I think 10mm, loosen the nut and take off the terminal with the black wire.

If you don't know how to do that, maybe you shouldn't be doing anything to the car that requires you to remove the neg battery terminal.

haha, to replace my ECU, im about to head to the junk yard and buy one. is there a specific year i need to buy? or 95-99 will do?

Nope. Not all those years will work.

And you do not have to d/c the batt to change it out, or at least I did not.

you have a 98 so aim for that and try to match up the tranny spec(auto to auto,5 speed to 5 speed.etc..) but if you can;t find one, a 97 should do. i think the 95-96 has a three wire oxygen and a 97-99 has a four wire so that might trip you a cel. but if you dont care about that then what ever. i doubt you can get the ecu out yourself anyway if you don't know how to take off the battery terminal. i think you should practice taking off your front bumper lens to get practice working on your car.
