S-tech Owners step in please...........

I just switched from my progress setup to the S-techs and ive got a question. i love the handling but my driver side front wheel is definitely rubbing it seems when i take fairly hard right turns. Anyone else have this problem. These are paired w/ AGXs and ive got the stock 5 spokers btw.
thanks guys

I'm on S-Techs w/illuminas and 17" wheels and no rubbing here. I'd try tightening up the front struts first see if that makes a difference.

alrite thanks. when i installed these a few days ago i didnt put one of the nuts back on that holds the strut in place bc the threads were messed up. this was however on the passenger side so ive been riding like that for about a week. im going today to try to find a nut for it. you think that might have somethings to do w/ it even if its on the opposing side. I have an FSTB btw.

what i've noticed that this setup is very stiff, and you should definitely try and put that bolt in, you shouldn't be rubbing at all.

I was thinking along the lines of tightening in terms of stiffening the fronts up so there isnt as much travel.

hmm, rubbing happens with s-techs, but usually when you are up into 19's or 20's. Something must just be loose as others said. I have had s-techs on my stock sawblades all summer. I love them and no issues have come up.

i dont see how s techs even work. i have about 3/8" of travel in the front with my Canucks rated at 2.0" drop. seems like you guys would alays be on the bumps.

Why do you think they ride like crap?
Everybody wants to go lower, but nobody really looks at what they are doing to the suspension with 2+ inch coil spring drops. It leaves the vehicle with little to NO suspension travel. The best part is they think the car handles well like that.

well ive had these for a week and i love the look of the drop, but you are correct. i didnt realize how little travel i now have. i may just go back to the progress springs until i get coilovers now. never really heard anyone mention the travel being a problem.

well heres the thing. i dont know what other to attribute this rubbing to than a lack of travel - which seems to make sense now that a few people have mentioned it. I do feel more planted on the highway that (like 80mph) w/ the s-techs but im not sure its worth that if im going to be banging the fender well every time i want to take a decently hard corner

I haven't had any problems with rubbing while hard cornering. Our roads are generally good here the lack or travel up front isn't a concern. It isn't too bad over rough roads but I do know what you mean. Most of my front bumpstops are gone though, and my strut settings are on the stiff side.

If it's that big a problem either go back to your Progress or get coilovers.

Progress definitely had a softer ride. I can say 100% though i like my S-tech/illumina drop more than my Progress/GR2 drop in terms of handling and visual look. Only hit the bumpstops twice going too fast over big speed bumps
