Ok it is a green 95 gxe with cloth inter. sunroof and a auto tranny. It has 215,000miles on it with a blown motor what would you pay for it

I would say not over $500, part it out and make more. I sold my 96 with everything running great, just got a new alternator and starter with only 164k on it for $2000. I even left the Motegi's, Illumina's, s-tech's and Pioneer head unit in it. Hell, the only reason why I sold it was I found a manual SE.

yah id get a crashed lower mileage maxima with good motor and tranny and swap the whole shabang its easier instead of mating the 214k tranny with a low mileage motor. Use the other tranny as spare or get a few hundred for it.... i would pay way under a G even with a clean rust free body....at 214k the suspension is probaly shot and that a whole nother can of worms

What's worst a blown engine or a blown auto tranny?

About the same, really. You can get a used VQ30 in good condition for about what you can get a good, used auto transmission. I suppose it's less work replacing just the transmission, since if you do an engine swap you'll be pulling the engine and transmission.

I wouldn't buy it. It's an automatic with cloth seats and probably doesn't even have a sun roof. Consequently it is worth nothing!

What makes you think the engine is blown? Perhaps it isn't blown at all as that is an extreme rarity for a VQ.

It also depends on who's gonna do the work. If you have to pay s/o else to install the engine then its probably not worth buying it at all. If you will do the work yourself and the car is otherwise in good condition I would pay $500 for it. I have seen good VQ low milage motors for around $250.

I do all my own work so I was just going to ****** the auto tranny and bad motor out and slip a 5peed with a new vq in.I did my own 5speed swap in my 3rd gen. I turbo my 3rd gen and made the kit (as no one make one for us) myself and since then took the motor out and redid the heads added cams and put it all back so I Can haddle it my self for this 4th gen.

bobo from what im told something happen with the timing chain and they said something about sprocket and cams being sheard. SO I would just rather swap the motors out bieng as I have to swap trannys any how.

I'd say no more than $500 as well as you will have to have a lot of work put into it to be in good shape proly.

I wouldn't buy it, seeing as it has 215k miles and is an auto. But to answer your question... a few hundred seems within the ballpark.

I don't know what gives rise to that comment. In my view the car is worth next to nothing. That is my opinion and my age is irrelevant.

I haven't noticed you giving any intelligent input to this thread.

What do you feel the car is worth and why?

Why is it not a good deal? The car could run perfectly and still run for another 100k if it was maintained......

Where can you search on the internet for cheap @$$ beater/wrecked cars. I want a 1995-02 wrecked pile of aides and a small case of chlamydia..... that has a working 5 SPD tranny. Car-part doesn't do entire cars.

if you find some places around here let me know. I'd try police auctions, check local papers, auto trader had a 95 rosewood se auto for $400, it just had a front end damage and they didnt want to repair (for what ever reason).
