Has anyone remove them? I removed both toll hooks because my new exhaust would sometime bang against it. I never had any use for them, so I guess it's no harm removing them? They're kind of heavy too, so it's a little weight reduction.

These are properly called Tow Hooks. If your car runs into a ditch the Tow and Recovery truck driver will attach a chain or steel cable to the Tow Hook and gently pull your car out. They are not used to tow the vehicle to a service facility, nor are they used when you tow a trailer.

Trust me, you don't plan on using them, nor do you think you ever will, but once you need 'em...

Tow hooks

If you get a receiver hitch for a bike rack, small boat, or a wave runner, you'll have to remove them to place the anchors there so no, you don't need them.

Re: Tow hooks

I slid into a ditch last winter and the tow truck driver hooked the chain onto it and winched it out...I'm damn glad I had them...

I already removed my hooks, the instructions that came with my receiver hitch called for the removal so that you can mount the hitch on.

Oops, I knew that I spelled it wrong. Anyway, I had to remove the passenger side one. Like I said, it was too close to the exhaust hanger, and would bang against it from time to time. Oh well, if I do happen to run my car into a ditch, I can always call up my friend who has a helicopter. It's not one of them conventional helicopter, it's usually used for hauling heavy stuff from and to places.
