Got it back Worse?

Got an inspection the other day and my car came back worse then when it was brought in. The OD light was blinking and the car was shifting extremely hard from 1st to second. so i brought it back and there were wires that somehow got snipped that were connected (pardon my illiteracy with wires) behind the box into the MAF. But it wasn't these it was the one's running parallel but connected like a Y. What are these wires? The problem has since been corrected by crimping. It still boggles me how they got "cut" too. weird...

Getting cut may have been no accident. Years ago, some smog shop tried to pull some **** with me and my camaro. I left happy, and a minute down the road, the car is acting wierd, CEL comes on, and runs like crap. I turn around and go back and complain. He acknowleges the problem, then tells me he knows exactly what the problem is, and will cost $450 to fix and he'll have it done in 1 day. I told him he was out of his fu<king mind, the car ran perfectly before I brought it to him. I limped the car home, popped the hood in desperation I would find something... well, I did. . Bastard disconnected a harness in the same area he was hooking up his test wires. He sure knew "exactly" what the problem was. Months later, a friend of mine told me he tried to pull the same crap on his civic. I reported his a$$ to the BBB. My friend did to. 6 months later, he was out of businness.

Have a pic of your cut wires?

Transmission drop resistor? It's the little thing attached to the strut tower right behind the airbox...

No unfortunately i do not have a picture, which makes this very difficult.

Transmission drop resistor...what exactly is is the function of that?

Wizard, I will have to look into the "no accident" theory...thanks for the info.

Maybe this inspection place performed the drop resistor mod.

This is why I always try to stay in the area watching anybody who has to work on my car. I get a weird look, but I really don't care. I make small talk with the mechanics, but I am really there just hawking my car, so they don't bang the car doors into the hydraulic lifts and things like that. People can be so rough with other peoples things. I am glad to hear that other guy went outa business. What a scumbag!
