Check engine light: Evap canister code
Check engine light: Evap canister code
I have an evap canister code and the shop i took it to said there are too many components to know exactly which part is triggering it. If i take it to Nissan, they will probably void my extended warranty because of my y-pipe and muffler. What can i do to find out what the problem is? What thing i did notice is that the car burns a lot of gas.

0111 is the EVAP system "jackpot" code meaning it points or one or more components or the EVAP system system.
Possible causes include (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)...
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve stuck closed.
- EVAP control system pressure sensor and its circuit.
- Loose, disconnected, or improper connection of rubber tube.
- Blocked rubber tube.
- Blocked or bent rubber tube to MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve.
- Cracked EVAP canister.
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
- Closed Throttle Position Switch.
- Improper connection of one-way valve.
- Blocked purge port.
- EVAP canister vent control valve.
Also, a y-pipe will not trigger the 0111 code.

You can test the various components yourself. You'll find all the info (location of the various components, testing procedures, etc.) in a factory service manual. Hayne's repair guide will cover some but definitely not everything. Good luck.
But for now, reset the CEL, and see if it comes on again.
