Does anybody else feel this way? When I was in high school, the Max was the car I wanted. I have had my 99 max for almost 3 years. I have treated her like gold, modded her to an extent with a new suspension and stereo system, and have always kept her detailed. Now at only 62K miles, my car has started to rattle inside the cabin. I now have about 3 distinct rattles in the cabin, and they are all driving me crazy. One is right up infront of me, seems to be in the dash somewhere, and I can't find it for the life of me...This is the loudest one.....even my girlfriend is starting to get annoyed by it. I have pulled off the a pillar, drove around like that, rustled the wiring under the steering column etc. I know that once you put an aftermarket suspension, things are gonna get jumbled around more inside the cabin, but i have illuminas and HR's, most of the time set on 1! I was looking at the new Lexus IS I wish I had it like that so I could be in one. I guess I will just have to start turning the radio up higher... I wish i wasnt the type of person that let little things bother me, but it really ruins a quite ride if you don't want the radio on. Sorry for the rambling.

New cars do rattle too. Especially if you buy american ones. My maxima has rattles and annoying noises as well but my easy fix with that is to turn up my stereo and let the bass drown it out. I still love my Max. Got some plans for her.

Ive got the one in the dash, I think the guage cluster, another in the passenger door, another in the driver door, another in the back, I think on that light. Annoying buzz between 3500 and 4500 under the glove box... Good times baby!

My use of my Maxima has dropped a lot since I got my Camaro... the Camaro's much faster, handles better, is as comfortable and has as many features (it's 5 years newer), and averages about the same gas mileage (worse city, better hwy). But I've still got big plans for the Maxima, even though it's not as great in any way besides cargo capacity... why? Because I love her!

ha, this morning I drove the car and the rattle was gone. But you know how rattles are- they come and go. My girlfriend was like WTF?! You should have seen it last night. I had her drive and I put the passanger seat flat and laid with my head in the under the stearing column trying to find the rattle. God thing i have tints! If I feel I can tackle it and don't have to take the whole dash out for a rattle, I will go for it. Anybody ever see that stupid movie mouse hunt? I dont want my max turning into that scenario. LOL

the little rattles happen, and as stated your lucky its not an American brand or it would have happened a long time ago. Still love your car, it doesn't have that much mileage, you can get some decent $$ if you tried.

I had a few rattles here and there that drove me crazy for a while. Found out it was change I had in the ashtray! And the other rattle that almost drove me over the edge was a cassette I had in the door pocket. So, look around, it could be something as simple as that. Check your console, door pockets and ashtray. I now have no rattles at 120k! I am lowered on H-Techs and Illuminas set at 3 and 3. And yes, I'm still in love with my Max!

Try living on a dirt road! That's when you really notice your rattles - good thing I'm not dropped too! I have one in my dash and a really bad one in my rear driver's side door. I get pretty used to them though because I've grown up riding in my parents' SUV's that rattle much worse!
