Luminics bulbs...ARGH!

Gave the Luminics bulbs a try on my van......yuck! I got the hyper white ones and they absolutely suck! They give off no light worth a damn. I am really pissed for listening to the knucklehead here somewhere who recommended them. Unfrigginbelievable! I use PIAA's in my Max and they are 1000% better than these pieces of crap. People, if you want a bulb that lights the road, which should be the only real purpose for a headlight bulb, DO NOT buy Luminics bulbs. I used to talk down Silverstars. Hell, they are phenomenal compared to the Luminics crap. I lived and learned the hard way. You cannot cheap out on bulbs, because sometimes you don't even get what you paid for but less.

The output with my luminics ultra violet bulbs was reduced but their ultra yellow fog light bulbs are outstanding. Im very satisfied with the look of the fog/headlight bulbs, but Im not satisfied with the performance from the just headlight bulbs. In the seven months Ive had them, they havent blown which is common with most aftermarket bulbs besides piaa.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they are lousy, but at the same time I'm sorry to hear others have had rotten experiences w/ the headlight bulbs. I am glad to have helped others avoid the mistake, however.

i think it was me that recommended them to you, not positive though. i dont think the output is that bad, when i did recommend them it was right after i upgraded to a h4 harness (hyper whites)

I was looking to flame anyone here. I simply had to state how lousy I see the light output on these bulbs. Of course it is a 9007 harness, but the output is still way worse than even the dying stock bulbs that were in the van.

The only Luminics bulbs you should buy are the yellow ones for the foglights.

Next to HID's, stock is the best to see at night. All of the hyper white and even Silverstar bulbs aren't that bright to see at night. The tint doesn't allow the output to go far.

yellow light like stock is even better in the rain, because white light doesnt disperse right in the rain, its all scattered

i had some ichibahn crap, lasted exactly a year, then it blew. neways i hate the ugly yellow but hey, it works

The bulbs definitely look better than they perform, but I've seen others that look better. My PIAA's in my Max look and perform well. They cost a good $, but they have been worth it.

You do know that different bulbs in different headlights look different right, therefore the output comparison is subjective? Why not put in a Luminics bulb into your Max on one side and compare? The difference I guarantee won't be huge as all blue tinted bulbs are essentially the same.

I noticed a huge difference going from silverstars to luminics purple. I couldn't see anything I thought my headlights were off half of the time. They do look cool for all the ricers out there.

That is expected as the bulb is so heavily tinted to achieve color that barely any useable light is left. Any bulb from any brand that says it is blue, pruple...etc is just a more heavily tinted bulb, nothing more.

The problem with the Luminics Hyperwhite is they are advertised as a whiter light, but when they came they were heavily tinted blue which alarmed me right away. The PIAA's I run in my Max are only very lightly blue coated and they burn a very nice white while throwing out good illumination to the road.

^^^^^ Could not have said it better myself. I now have the regular 9004 Sylvania Xtravisions, they are awesome for a 9004 bulb.
