ECU self programming

A buddy of mine is working on hacking the 1996 nissan maxima ECU for
re-programming! He is trying to get into making this a software to sell and make money from....or is there a self tuning ecu program for maximas allready? Either way this dude is a f*cking super brain....i hope this falls through as he says. i'll keep updates coming!

No offense to you or your friend, but hacking a 4G ecu is pretty difficult due to the amount of variables available among different years/models/trannies...It has taken TS this long to crack the rev limiter, and still doesn't have it down for every model. For every Max he plans on selling an ecu for, he'd probably have to go back to scratch and recrack it.

usuing software to adjust parameters on our ecu would reset as soon as the software was unplugged and the car turned off, due to the ecu being a ROM.

true but just do what TS or who ever does, they must burn a new rom and unsolder the existing rom and drop in the new

how old are you and how old is your friend? the people who developed these things are trained and experience technicians, and electrical engineers, which probably took years to develop and test. No way is your friend going to play around with the ecu to try to tune it.. if your just asking about a program
for our ecus dont shoot around the bush
