Can you Upgrade to a BOSE easily?
I have a 95 GXE with the stock stereo. Want to upgrade.
How easy is it to install a bose head unit from some other max? Say a 95 through 99 model BOSE.
Will I need any special connector kits etc?
Any potential problems?
Should I just buy a regular aftermarket head unit?

here's what to do...
go with aftermarket if you want a powerful, feature-packed deck that can easily be integrated with a sub, amps, EQ, CD changer, etc...
go with a Bose system if you just want a decent system, don't really want to upgrade from the standard cd player, tuner, and tepe deck, and don't mind jacking with a bunch of extra wiring.
my $0.02

OK here's an addition..what's the next best
dual tape/ cd head unit. One of course that will fit my 95 GXE stock set up.
I've seen Alpine and Pioneer that fit this bill but what do ya'll recommend? I nees prices too if applicable.
thanks!!!

question:
are you talking about a double-din unit that would fill in the whole dash? If so, Pioneer makes a really nice deck that would do that. If you're willing to go with (just) CD in the deck and get a single-din unit, you could then buy a nice Graphic EQ/Crossover and put that in the dash underneath the deck!!
Check out Breaux's system:

I already have a Sony ES deck, just looking for the right speakers. I will prolly also get an EQ otherwise I'll just have an open storage space under the deck.
