I heard that you can actually loose low end by using this with a cat back system. Is this true? Id rather not put one in if im gonna loose my low end or whatever i have now!

How much low end is lost with the RT? Will it matter if you have a y-pipe?

well...

The VQ in the 4th gen's are quite strong on the lower end of the power band. They need help in the higher revs, wich is exactly what the RT Cat does. I had installed a RT Cat. I didnt notice any low end power loss but the high end was helped some. I have recently installed a custom "test pipe" wich eliminated the cat completly. I did loose some low end but the high end improvments are well worth it.

I added the RT Cat after the CAI and UndPly. That combination had great lowend pull. 0-60ft in 6.4x

Just added the Cattman SS-Y and it doesn't feel as strong. At least until I get faster. Haven't run yet to test though. I know I've got exhaust leaks around the RT Cat now though.

Stock B-pipe & muffler for a while. Everyone says adding a cat-back system will hurt low end 4sure.

IIRC, Justin G. gained lots of torque with his RT cat, tested on the dyno. The person at RT that said you would lose low-end power must not have been around when RT was developing the cat for Justin's Maxima.

No loss of lowend.....

I've got absolutely no loss of lowend torque with a y-pipe, intake, B-pipe, and my newly installed RT cat. I can easily smoke my 17" Sumitomos from a roll anywhere in first gear. Now after adding the RT cat I'm getting the worst wheelspin I've ever gotten going into 2nd. I've actually hit 2nd so hard a couple times that I get wheelhop and had to let off. Last night I was doing a roll-on WOT run at 4500 rpm in 2nd and I spun my left tire...twice!!!

Another reason I think I've got plenty of torque is because my 60 foots are extremely slow 2.4s with dramatic wheelspin from a 2000 clutch slip.

Trust me fellas, there is no loss in torque.
