look at my Xenarc Osram & Philips D2S bulbs (pics)...few questions

Are these Philips D2S bulbs identical (in color?), notice the different #'s on the right side of the bulb.
Also, is there any way to tell their color temp by looking at them?

Look at this spare Philips Bulb I have, notice the part circled in red is very cloudy...is this a sign of anything, or do I have anything to worry about here?

Finally, which pair of bulbs would you go with and why for a retrofit w/ E46 single xenon projectors? Xenarc Osram or Philips?

Thanks

Normally i'd flame you for making 3 seperate threads that could very easily be condensed into one but i know you've been here a while and know better. Question is.....why?

geez why not lump all your hid parts questions into one thread? you can never be sure of the colors unless you are sure they are a matched pair that came out of the same car. the 85122 on the philips and 66040 on the osram means they're 4100k or 4300k. i forget which it was. the other numbers doesn't mean anything of importance to you. philips are suppose to be more white after burn in while the osrams have a slight pink color

Even so, they're all about your new HID setup, and as such they can all be condensed into one thread.

As nismology said, you've been here for a while, one would assume you would have seen that multiple threads on the same issue isn't well recieved. Hell, I've seen people banned for less.

The greater the number of hours the HID bulb has been used the greater the accumulation of salts in the bulb(reference to the cloudy bulb).

Do you really need to repeat what he has said? Stop posting in my thread. Thanks

Thats most likely a batch control number. Both bulbs are identical.

Does anyone know the exact color temps of the 85122 (ie 4100k or 4300k)?
Additionally does anyone know the exact color temp of the Osram Xenarc 66040?

------------------
For replacement of: Osram XENARC D2S/D2R, Xenarc 66040 D2S, Xenarc 66050 D2R

Some sites say 4100k

Interesting. I am also hearing that the Osram's have a little more yellow to their light, and once they color shift they go to a white/pinkish color. I think I will stick with the Philips if that is the case.

I read that they start out at 4100K and after 200hours of use they switch to 4300ish K.
