9004 lights burning the connector

Hey you guys i have a problem... I need some advice on which front light bulbs would be a good buy because i got some cheap 9004 blue lights from around town. The bad thing is they seem to be burning the light connectors plastic housing. and now its all screwed up. Can any of you tell me which lights are awesome light bluish that are affordable and dont burn the connectors? Thanks!

Yeah I had to learn the hardway myself. I got mine off of ebay. Also make sure you wire everything correctly after you get them becuase if you dont your highbeam indicator will stay on or worst those sockets will burn out too. Dont ask me how I know.

Upgrade your headlight harness before getting any over-wattage headlight bulbs. Or do the 9004 to 9007 conversion.

I have Eurolite plasmas and they do not burn the connector. If you use higher wattage bulbs then, like everyone said, upgrade the harness.

As Stuntin says. For stock wattage but more lumens, you can find Phillips Vision Plus - supposedly superior to S/Stars, and not blue tinted - in Meier's "superstores" or via mailorder. Also GE's newish NightHawk bulbs began appearing in WalMarts, and like the Phillips; no tinted glass.

Here are a couple mail-order links for the GE and Phillips bulbs. One of the sites also carries the EU-spec, non-tinted Silverstars - which are superior to our WalMart blue S/Stars...

Try to see if Bestbuy sells light bulbs, b/c in my local BB, they sell normal wattage 9004's for like $15 and they give out a white light with some blue accent. It looks great at night.

My sockets are melted. I bought new ones, but I'm too lazy to put them in.

Only bulbs ever used were stock, PIAA Xtreme White and Sylvania SS.

So are you recommending that i buy PIAA lights with my stock harness or buy a Nokya harness with some other lights. Arent the PIAA compatible with the stock harness or do they need a upgraded harness like the NOkya. Let me know. Thanks!

OH yeah another question. What type of bulbs would go great with the Nokya harness?

Yes they're supposedly compatible with the stock harness, but mine are still melted. go figure...

I don't recommend any halogen lights. The 9004 design sucks. I'm going to get HID's soon.

I've had the 9007 Nokya Arctic White (over-wattage) bulbs with upgraded harness for a year and the bulbs are still running strong. No melted sockets either. This is by-far the longest lasting over-wattage bulb I've ever had. It outlasted two PIAA Extreme Whites, those only lasted a few months and they burned out. Upgrading your harness does a lot for the bulbs.
