Problem Fitting Foglights into Bumper
Problem Fitting Foglights into Bumper
I found a couple foglights for my 97 Maxima in a local junkyard. I am having a hell of a time fitting them ithrough my bumper and into the brackets. I am shaving the bumper and taking off far more than I thought I would have to. Anybody added foglights and had a similar experience?
whoa, you dont need to shave anything. the only piece i took off to install my fogs was the little piece that GLE's and GXE's have in place of the foglights, i took it off with a kitchen knife. What you have to do is kind of slide the bracket in, then position it to bolt in. It's pretty easy, and the whole install took about 10 mins. With the lights, all you have to do is position the tab in the tab slot in the bracket, and bolt it down with the 2 bolt holes. then put on the littly black plastic cover.

They could be off a 98 or 99. They are not from a 95 or 96. I see where everything should line up but the plastic from the bumper on the bottom of the foglight opening is in the way. I cut the little piece out and put the brackets in. The lights are much tougher. I can barely get the male piece into the hole in the brackets. Once I do it, I can't line-up the two pieces for bolting. I'm not sure why its hitting the bumper so much.
