95 vs 97 Interior - Easy Swap?

I am considering upgrading my 97 GXE tan cloth interior to tan leather. I found a nice leather interior in a 95 Maxima. The door panels and seats are in very good condition. Does anyone know whether there were any changes from 95 to 97 so that the panels or seats won't fit easily? The leather wrapped steering wheel is not salvageable so it is not an issue.

Interior is fine. Take it if you want it.

I have a 95 and swapped with 97. The only differences intererior is the center console and the a-pillars might be plastic or have the fuzzy stuff. But there are no fitment issues as far as the seats or center console. Seats in GLE might plugs that wont go anywhere in your GXE but i dont know for sure.

I'll stay away from the bose speakers since I don't have a bose stereo. The leather seats are power operated I think and so I'll see whether I can run power to them.

IMO it's not worth swapping the entire inerior (unless you have tan and would prefer black... etc.) I am going to be just swapping the center council because the cup holders in the '95-'96 are ridiculous.

My cloth is in good condition but I prefer the leather trim on the door panels and I'd like leather seats for a change.

I've heard that the leather on the door panels can't be done because they're glued to the panel. Can't recall the thread though.

Amen to that.

I plan to swap out the center console area as well, at some point...

Direct fit, anyone know?

they certainly can be but require some modification and time. the leather comes off and is held on by tabs through holes, but on the gxe's or cars without leather, the cloth is glued on. i think i did a write up on some page about removing the cloth and cutting holes but it's not hard to figure out. i did it for another member on the org and it looks stock.

if you need help, i'm in mass and do this stuff too much that it's simple so let me know if you need help.

Thanks. I'm just going to replace the whole door panels instead of swapping leather onto my existing door panels. The cost should be about the same from the junkyard. It sounds like 95-96 panels will fit onto my doors.

Door panels leather

I am going through that myself, replaced one so far, it can be done, cut holes, and poke the tabs thru, bending them over locks them in. Maybe some adhesive would help too.

Now i wish i had black interior :S I like my tan interior but i love the way black goes with a bunch of color schemes to the interior of the car. That is why i wanta black interior. I wish there were somewhere close to where i live which i can get these parts from.
