Hey, my maxima has a hard starting problem lately. This happened a few times before only when the weather is humid or raining, but after the week of rain we had in NY two weeks ago, its happening everytime I start the car. Everytime I start up when it is cold, it would crank up and die unless I keep my foot on the pedal and keep the engine running for a couple of seconds, sometimes even longer. Afterwards, the rpms usually drop to 800 and slowly rise back up. However, when the car engine is warmed up, the car starts without a problem. The car runs fine with no problems, just the trouble getting it started. Im not sure if this is fuel related or some electrical problem. I can't check the CEL on my car because the light doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Autozone will check for codes for free.

Replace the light then check for the codes yourself or do what kcryan suggested and take it to autozone and have them check for codes for free. Then once you have the codes (if any) report back to us
