Loose Trunk Hinge

I noticed that on my car, the trunk seems to be kinda loose. On my dad's maxima, the trunk is solid when closed, but on mine there is a little play when I push down when it's closed. It also chatters a lot on the highway and over bumps. I can hear it and see it bounce a little in my rear view mirror. Is there any way to tighten the hinge a little?

Is your trunk latch loose? Then you'll need to tighten it. If not...

There should be a round rubber piece on each side of the trunk along the edge that the lid rests against. If these are missing, then you'll need to get a new set. These help keep the lid from moving around. If you have these then...

Push down on the lid near the corner and if it moves, you'll need to lower the position of the trunk latch. There are two screws holding it in position.
